Background

The expansion of urban infrastructure increases the risk of construction equipment intrusion - crane booms, hooks and debris pose a collision risk on rail/road corridors. LiDAR-based intrusion detection systems can monitor at a range of 200 meters with an accuracy of ±2 cm, thus reducing these risks. These solutions have been deployed in China's high-speed rail network and provide 24/7 protection, even in foggy/dark conditions.

Richbeam deploys an intrusion detection station that integrates lidar and cameras for continuous monitoring of railway boundaries 24/7. These systems identify obstacle intrusions that exceed preset thresholds and trigger local acousto-optical alerts, while the gateway device supports sending remote status reports to the control center.
